What We Are Seeking: The Iowa Department of Public Defense is hiring an Information Technology Specialist 2 position to assist the State at Camp Dodge to provide overall system support (administration, management, and maintenance) to the Distributive Learning Program (DLP). This position will serve under the general supervision of the Iowa Department of Public Defense (Iowa Army National Guard).   • Interact directly with National Guard Bureau (NGB) to ensure program regulations, changes, and reporting are being met
  • Oversee and ensure full automated systems support to eight (8) Distance Learning Classrooms (DLC's) spread across the state
  • Support includes but not limited to: Computers, Printers, Projectors, Cameras, Speakers, Blu-ray Players, Video Conferencing, and Hardware / Software
  • Perform upgrades / repairs, ensuring to follow established security measures according to DoD, State, and local policy
  • Coordinate with Iowa Army National Guard units, personnel, students, and other authorized agencies on classroom needs and maintenance.
  • Ensure classrooms are operational and approve all requests for facility use
  • Serve as the first point of contact to document customer issues and resolve problems
  • Prepare written and oral instructions for the operation of all DLCs
Special Requirements:
  • Must be Comp TIA Security Plus Certified within six (6) months of date of hire
  • Must obtain a secrete security clearance or equivalent DoD background check and obtain/maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) required to access DoD computer systems
  • Must possess / maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to travel from main work location (Johnston, Iowa) to DLC locations on weekly basis to maintain and support classroom technology requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stop, crawl, kneel and access confined/uncomfortable spaces for the installation, inspection and maintenance of DLP system components, hardware, and software
