HireCapital is excited to partner with a leading organization to find a dedicated and experienced IT Technician. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability and efficiency of their IT operations and providing high-level technical support across the organization.
Role Summary:
The IT Technician will be the third line of support for all IT-related issues within the company. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical assistance, handle system setups for new hires, and ensure robust network and server management. This role involves both remote troubleshooting and hands-on support tasks, offering a comprehensive technical challenge suited to a detail-oriented and highly skilled IT professional.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to service desk requests via telephone, email, and web portal with courtesy and professionalism, ensuring effective resolution of end-user issues.
- Prioritize and manage multiple incidents and service requests according to SLA requirements.
- Perform desktop-level fixes and hardware repairs, set up new peripherals, and provide on-site support when necessary.
- Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure smooth networking across the organization.
- Maintain up-to-date antivirus software and server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
- Administer and monitor Azure Cloud services and manage network security components like firewalls and switches.
- Conduct preventative maintenance for IT equipment and infrastructure.
- Engage in solution design and architecture for network and server setups as needed.
- Maintain rigorous safety and security standards within the company's IT framework.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or similar (certifications will be considered in absence of a degree), and at least 3-5 years of equivalent professional IT experience.
- Proven experience with desktop and server OS, including Windows (7, 10, Server 2012, Server 2016, Server 2019), Linux, and macOS.
- Strong capability in writing technical proposals and implementing technological solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Cloud operations.
- Expertise in Sharepoint migration and administration.
- Experience with firewall administration and network security.
- Strong interpersonal skills focused on rapport-building, listening, and querying.
- High-quality customer service orientation.
- Problem-solving prowess with a capacity to work under moderate supervision.
- Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems certifications.
- Valid Driver's License with the ability to travel to client locations as needed.
- CompTIA Net+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications are advantageous.
