***BILINGUAL SPANISH-SPEAKING CANDIDATES STRONGLY PREFERRED - ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION AVAILABLE***Scheduled Hours: Thur-Fri-Sat 4p-4a including holidays; Overtime and holiday pay eligible.Agency SummaryThe Marion County Clerk is the custodian of all court records, serves as the court's fiscal agent, trustee of child support payments, and issues marriage licenses.Job SummaryIncumbent is responsible for a variety of clerical functions in the case management system. Receives bond payments, processes search warrants, and new criminal case filings. Performs a variety of time-sensitive tasks with limited supervision. Position reports to a department with operations that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.Provides prompt, professional, and courteous service to members of the public, primarily in-person, but also by phone, email, or in writing. Receives and processes cash, check, and credit card payments. Follows established policies and procedures, is well organized, and detail-oriented. Works cooperatively within a team environment to ensure all tasks are completed timely. Substantial independent judgment and ability to work independently is required.Requires proficient knowledge of and strict adherence to requirements and regulations related to the filing of legal documents and court proceedings; accessing court services; accessibility of court records, especially confidential records; and various fees and payment processes. QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of previous clerical experience required. Must be able to communicate effectively orally, verbally, and in written formats. Attention to detail is a priority. Requires ability to work independently with minimum supervision and promotes teamwork.Preferred Job Requirements and QualificationsAssociates degree or some post-secondary education.
