Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Converting Associate for our Tifton, Ga facility who will be responsible for assisting the Converting Senior Technician (operator) with setting up and maintaining production of printing equipment. Included in their duties is ensuring that they read the order properly, ensure all raw materials are available, and follow all quality check requirements and ISO procedures1) Mental Ability - The Technician must be able to read orders and setup the machine properly. They must be able to communicate orally with team members and keep accurate records on their run reports. They must be able to read a tape measure accurately, and operate a calculator for basic mathematical computations. Be able to recognize/match color to meet order requirements. 2) Physical Ability - The Technician must be able to climb up steps/or ladder in order to setup or troubleshoot the equipment. They must be able to lift up to 40-80 pounds to assist co-workers in lifting shaft cylinders and/or ink pails and be able to exert 30 lbs. force to roll print cylinder carts or raw materials into place. 3) Safety - It is plant policy to work in a safe manner. All Technicians must ensure guards are in place, follow lock-tag-try procedures, observe hazards such as nip points, and follow plant and department safety rules. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1) Assure paper for next order is at machine and ready. 2) Assure all necessary set up parts are ready - hot melt units, trim removal containers, etc. 3) Housekeeping - clean tuber and operating area daily. Empty trash daily 4) Understand and follow all quality check requirements and ISO procedures. 5) Take measures to reduce waste and assure waste is weighed and recorded. 6) Assist operator in setting up and maintaining efficient quality production. 7) Relieve Sr. Tech and Prod.
