Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and public areas in a timely manner, while holding the Forbes Standards protocol.
  • Performs cleaning duties in all guest areas and back of house.
  • Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Ensures housekeeping departmental standards are followed and is familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures.
  • Responds timely to guests' special requests for miscellaneous items like cribs, extra towels, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies
  • Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Inn at Lost Creek standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Comply at all times with Forbes standards and Inn at Lost Creek regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Walk assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers, trays, trash and/or linens and note any areas that need immediate cleaning
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
  • Use daily checklist to complete projects listed below as assigned.
  • Halls
  • Elevator landings
  • Housekeeping closets
  • Linen and trash removal from rooms
  • Restocking clean linen to closets
  • Room Calls
  • Stripping rooms
  • Dusting furniture
  • Other projects as assigned by management
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self.
  • Handle items for Lost and Found according to the hotel standards.
  • At the end of the shift, turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office.
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
  • Before leaving section, collect all trash from the service landings and take to/dispose in outside trash dumpsters, per hotel procedures.
  • Vacuum guest corridors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of Housekeeping Office, linen rooms, storage closets and stairwells.
  • Attend meetings/training as required by management.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no Supervisory Responsibilities. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and/ or experience in hotel industry or related field preferred. Language Skills:

  • Able to communicate by radio.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
Computer Skills: No computer skill necessary. Other Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Physical Demands:
  • Flexible and long hours may be required
  • Medium work- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
