Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily common area inspections, keep tidy and make repairs are needed, including but not limited to: Boiler rooms, garage, trash/recycle room, walk ways, empty cigarette receptacles, overflow parking areas, fire pit, stairwells, hallways including windows (open/close as seasons and weather dictate), snowmelt and snow load from roofs seasonally, emergency exit signs and exterior lock systems
  • Responsible for assisting in all aspects of building maintenance and construction projects. And responsible for personally performing facilities maintenance and construction tasks as directed
  • Review work orders and oral work requests and instigates and assists in repair and maintenance
  • Responsible for recommending equipment needs, both replacement and additions, and when approved, coordinates all needs through the department director/supervisor.
  • Coordinates work with other departments and General Manager.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Inn at Lost Creek standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Comply at all times with Forbes standards and Inn at Lost Creek regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
  • Responsible for safety measures at each job site so as to provide protection to himself, other workers and the general public. Safety is extremely important to TSG and employees will use caution and prudence in every action. Required PPE and safety precautions must be used at all appropriate times based on the working conditions and the operator's manual for equipment being used.
  • Identifies safety concerns and reports or repairs items quickly, with the knowledge that not all opinions of safe/non-safe issues are directly in within our control.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
  • Provide a guest experience that exceeds the guest's expectations.
  • Ensure that physical condition of the property is maintained according to company operating and safety standards.
  • Responsible for the decorum and cleanliness of all grounds and building interiors and exteriors.
  • Responsible for snow control of all parking lots, sidewalks, and balconies as to ensure the safety of all residents and visitors.
  • Handle all maintenance-related resident issues in a timely fashion, while communicating the status to the Engineering Supervisor as well as the residents.
  • Organize and prioritize service requests and general maintenance tasks. Ensure that all service orders are properly documented in accordance with the company's service order procedures.
  • Ensure that vacant units are made rent-ready in a timely manner. Ensure all make-readies are inspected.
  • Must be knowledgeable of inventory levels of spare parts and supplies and inform supervisor of shortages.
  • Maintains the Hot tubs. Duties include:
    • Regularly testing hot tub water quality and pH balance
    • Treats hot tubs to maintain proper chemical balance
    • Ensure the hot tub is clean and perform schedule cleaning duties
    • Maintenance as required
    • May be required to obtain CPO certification
  • Covers Security department as needed
  • Adhere to the company's safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company training classes, as required.
  • Supports Telluride Ski & Golf missions and goals with a positive attitude.
  • Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This person may be asked to and must be able to be in charge of the Engineering dept. when no other supervisors in Engineering dept. or the Inn at Lost Creek are available. This may be on his/her weekend or on vacation, and handle problems and concerns within the knowledge base and scope of the tech position. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Employee must be capable of operating a variety of equipment relative to this position which shall include, but not limited to, trucks, electric power tools, levels, shovels, picks, masonry equipment, ladders, other hand and power tools that are needed to complete a certain task in a safe and effective manner. All equipment must be used without jeopardizing the safety of themselves, fellow employees and residents. Appropriate safety equipment and apparel must be worn. Must be able to diagnose and repair basic problems with, but not limited to, the following:
    • HVAC
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical
    • Sheetrock
    • General carpentry
    • Painting
    • Pool care
    • Exterior repairs - gutters, fascia & soffits, paint & maintenance(All major roofing, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC will be completed by licensed, insured contractors.)
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum one-year experience in Facilities Maintenance or a similar trade or building construction related field.Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively interact in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, other employees of the organization, and the general public. Able to communicate by radio.Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to ask questions on tasks to ensure complete understanding. Be able to identify complex problems and determine root cause for prevention and repair. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multistep instructions. When operating equipment, the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting and turning of the upper body.
