Within the Business Development Team, the Innovation Training Team (ITT) oversees several programs and initiatives supported by a variety of partners.The CoMotion Innovation Training Program Manager (PM) provides operational planning, coordination, financial tracking, grant preparation and management for the ITT and to aid the Director of Innovation Training in the day-to-day management of the NSF I-Corps program. The PM will also be in charge of grant preparation and management for other internal CoMotion teams as needed. The PM will work to ensure compliance with all aspects of grant management. The PM may also take part in the creation, operations, and management of other training courses within the CoMotion Innovation Training program. This position will develop procedures and is accountable for the outcome of them.Reporting to the Director of Innovation Training, the Program Manager devises and implements office procedures to ensure efficiency of the various activities and is the point of contact for administrative policies and decisions. This position exercises independent judgment and decision-making skills. Successful candidates will bring a high level of organization, excellent communication skills, and an ability to synthesize and distill complex information that may be technical and academic in nature.This position is grant-funded for five years, with the possibility for an additional five years depending on successful grant renewal.Responsibilities:Program management (45%)• Prepare complex and detailed budget reports and recommendations• Plan and project cost accounting and provide recommendations• Ensure grants are in compliance with UW and sponsor policies at all times.• Manage federal and other agency grant programs, including fiscal oversight• Point person for CoMotion on proposal submission processes including routing of applications and interpretation of sponsor guidelines.• Develops and tracks metrics and outcomes to ensure success of the program• Support program communication with both internal and external stakeholders.• Serve as liaison for compliance matters, including coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and Grant and Contract Accounting (GCA).• Continually seek to improve processes around grant tracking and disbursement• Other grant tasks as neededStrategy, Communications, and Program Management (30%)• Curate an accessible library of just-in-time training content, including the creation of additional just-in-time training opportunities based on programmatic needs, and oversee the launch and maintenance of the content,• Develop strategy and content for marketing and other communication materials in partnership with the CoMotion Marketing and Communications team.• Manage process for onboarding of participants and mentors for innovation training• Provide high level of customer service to ensure client satisfaction• Continually seeks to improve procedures, activities and policies.• Develop and distribute communications with key internal and external stakeholders• Maintain updates for the program websitesTracking and reporting (25%)• Continually evaluate programmatic impact and efficiency and propose changes to improve the programs,• Submit required data summary reports to federal and other granting agencies• Coordinate with internal and external partners to collect and disseminate key program metrics• Perform benchmarking against innovation training programs to continually evolve programmingOther duties as assignedRequirements:• Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, journalism, humanities, science or related field.• Two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional Requirements:• Highly organized and ability to simultaneously manage and operate multiple projects• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Self-starter and ability to take initiativeDesired Qualifications:• Familiarity with University of Washington policies and procedures, particularly grants and contracts.• Experience with UW systems: SAGE and Workday• Experience managing grants from federal agencies, foundations, and industry partners.Application Process:The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
