ResponsibilitiesJoin our dynamic team at URMC, where we are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in our inpatient nephrology services. We are seeking an organized and energetic individual who thrives in a collaborative team environment.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate and manage patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring ongoing dialysis therapy. This includes writing dialysis orders, coordinating care with other inpatient services, and facilitating transitions to outpatient dialysis units.Assess and treat patients with acute kidney injury, electrolyte imbalances, and volume/blood pressure disorders. Prescribe dialysis and Continuous Veno-Venous Hemofiltration (CVVHDF) as appropriate.Bill for services rendered.Assist in performing kidney biopsiesMentorship is provided to all APPs. While experienced candidates are encouraged to apply, we also welcome applications from motivated new NP/PA graduates.QualificationsNurse PractitionerRequires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.Physician AssistantCompletion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.
