Job Title: Inpatient PharmacistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Inpatient Pharmacist with a minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to gain invaluable inpatient pharmacy experience while working for a top hospital system in Northern California.
Responsibilities- Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements and accreditation standards.
- Dispense medications, including narcotics, following proper procedures and protocols.
- Provide clear and professional written and verbal communications to diverse audiences, including non-medical personnel.
- Utilize pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols commonly used in prescribing, dispensing, and record keeping of medications.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods.
- Use computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related pharmaceutical technology, including EHR and EPIC systems.
- Perform data entry and handle prior authorizations efficiently.
Essential Skills- Doctorate: Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy
- California Board of Pharmacy RPH License
- AHA BLS certification
- Knowledge of National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, DHS, DEA, FDA, and USP standards
- Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations and medical terminology
- Experience with EPIC systems (highly preferred)
- 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience

Work EnvironmentThis position offers a structured work schedule with day shifts of 4x10 hours (08:30 - 19:00) or (11:00 - 21:30), including rotating weekends. The work environment involves using various pharmaceutical technologies and systems to ensure efficient and accurate medication dispensing. The role requires adherence to legal and accreditation standards, providing a professional and supportive atmosphere.
