We invite experienced Hematology/Oncology APPs to discover all that we can do when we bring healing hearts, inquisitive minds and progressive visionaries together in our CMC Main team at Levine Cancer in Charlotte, NC.Atrium Health Levine Cancer is looking for an experienced full time advanced practice provider (APP) specialized in Hematology/Oncology to provide quality health services to the patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community. This position is occupied by AGACNP/ACNP nurse practitioners (NP) and/or physician assistants (PA) who care for patients in the hospital as they go through diagnosis/treatment of Hematologic Malignancies. The APP is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with hematologic malignancies and/or hematologic disorders, including but not limited to stem cell transplant patients.Position Description:* Inpatient, CMC-Main* Full-time (40 hours)* Day shift, combination of 10 and 13 hour shifts including Saturday and Sunday (0700-2000)* Holidays required* No call* Teaching opportunities with APP and Physician Fellows* Bone Marrow Biopsy and Aspirate procedural skills will be required as part of trainingPosition Qualifications:* Graduation from an accredited NP program. Must be Acute Care NP. Current license to practice as a NP in North Carolina.* Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.* Nurse practitioners are required to have a master's degree or doctorate in nursing practice.* +1 years of experience preferred. Hematology/Oncology experience preferred but not required.* Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills when working in a fast paced, high acuity work environment. Able to perform thorough history and physical assessment. Able to work with multidisciplinary team.* NC LicensureEssential Functions* Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.* Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.* Performs medical procedures.* Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.* Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations.* Determines treatment plan for patient.* Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and* actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.* Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.* Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested.Physical RequirementsWork requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity.
