Job Description:

My client is an accomplished 70 year old manufacturing company located in a northern suburb of Buffalo, NY. They are in search of an entry level candidate, preferably with an engineering degree and 1 year experience of inside sales, applications engineering or customer support in some type of electro-mechanical device or other technical product.

Position Purpose: Sales point of contact with the customer for technical and customer service related requests from customers or potential customers in the Aircraft / Aerospace, Oceanographic and other industrial applications.

What Are The Principal Responsibilities Of This Position:

Point of contact for customers calling into the company and will provide technical expertise which allows the engineering department to understand the customer's needs to design appropriate solutions.

Develop product proposals and provide technical support both pre and post-sale.

Responsible for customer service aspects of the sale.

Daily / Periodic Tasks

  • Review customer RFP packages and interpret requirements and develop technical proposals for programs and devices that have not been previously quoted or built.
  • Answer general and technical customer questions related to products.
  • Responsible for and program order entry and maintenance
  • Utilize strong communication skills to diagnose technical problems and instruct end users through troubleshooting procedures
  • Coordinate customer interaction with engineering when needed
  • Check and approve quotes and orders.
  • Manage and follow up on open opportunities generated
  • Assist sales representatives with both general and technical inquiries
  • Assist National Sales Manager with the development and improvement of inside sales processes including quotations, price list, order entry and technical training tools
  • Proactively identify and report potential product development opportunities
  • Secondary phone coverage for program customers. Technical phone coverage for customers.
  • Assist with shipping documents and order tracking information for transducer customers.

Key Competencies & Experience:

  • BS in Engineering preferred
  • 1 year experience in an inside sales, applications engineering or customer service role, with a technical product/device.
  • MS Office, MRP Systems, Organizational Skills, Strong Communication Skills, Time Management, Technical Sales, Customer Service, Export Control
