Job Title: Inside Sales ManagerReports To: General ManagerPosition SummaryThe Inside Sales Manager oversees and manages the Inside Sales team's activities, ensuring the achievement of sales goals by effectively handling customer purchase orders and inquiries. This role involves team leadership, customer service, collaboration across departments, and continuous improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Management & Development
- Train, motivate, and retain qualified Inside Sales personnel.
- Conduct performance appraisals for all Inside Sales Representatives.
- Recommend disciplinary actions and terminations as necessary.
- Foster a productive and positive team environment.
Customer Service & Order Management
- Provide prompt, professional responses to customers, co-workers, and other Metals USA departments.
- Ensure accurate and timely order entry for customer orders received by phone, fax, mail, or email.
- Provide competitive and accurate quotations to customers with clear price and delivery information.
- Notify customers and sales teams of expected delays in a timely manner.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate important inquiries and quotations to outside sales and management for follow-up.
- Work closely with departments like Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production Planning, Receiving, and Shipping to ensure smooth order processing.
Sales Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor internal order entry errors and implement programs for reduction.
- Regularly assess market conditions and adjust pricing with the Manager of Program Accounts and General Manager.
- Lead Inside Sales meetings to discuss team goals, issues, and strategic alignment.
Budget & Financial Responsibility
- Develop and manage the annual Inside Sales salary plan, adhering to compensation budget.
- Oversee pricing for general stock and non-program orders.
Relationship Management
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts by occasionally traveling with field sales.
- Encourage Inside Sales Representatives to participate in customer relationship-building activities.
Additional Duties
- Delegate tasks to qualified subordinates while ensuring accountability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Education
- College degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimun 3 years experience in Sales, preferably within the metals or warehousing industry.
- Knowledge of metals processing techniques, technical, and quality considerations is a plus.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions
