Summary: The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible to support outside sales staff in efforts to build and maintain customer relationships and enable sales. Inside sales will coordinate with other departments to expedite, facilitate, troubleshoot and track in-house orders from PO to shipment. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support outside sales staff in efforts to build and maintain customer relationships and enable sales activity.
- Prepare sales quotes.
- Handle incoming sales calls, qualify leads and build customer profiles.
- Maintain records of all quotes, sale and bid documents.
- Assist with special projects as they arise such as ISO compliance procedure updates, presentations, trade shows, training sessions, and other projects.
- Process and perform data entry for sale orders.
- Coordinate and communicate with representatives of the Production, Materials, & Engineering Departments to prepare accurate quotations and keep up to speed on existing orders.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices and availability.
- Be able to estimate prices, terms and delivery dates.
- Consult with clients after sales to provide ongoing support or resolve any issues.
- Assist the customer in selecting the right product for their specific needs.
- Be able to locate and supply customers with supporting documentation.
- Study product information to acquire professional knowledge.
- Identify, qualify and pursue leads with both new and established customers. Track, monitor and submit public bids and archive submitted bids and tabulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inside sales.
- Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent from two-year college, technical school, trade school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to intelligently write and receive correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Able to compose concise and eloquently worded internal and external correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively, dynamically and professionally on the phone.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Knowledge and experience dealing with Excel formulas and accounting math is preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to read and understand various service manuals, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
- Must be able to read and understand the Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., Inc. Employee Handbook, safety plans/programs, safety training materials and SDS sheets.
