Basic Job Functions:

The Inside Sales Representative's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, productivity and profitability objectives. Inside Sales Representatives work directly with our customers, managing inquiries, orders, releases, claims, and perform any other duties associated with exceeding our customer's expectations, as well as collaborating with the Outside Sales Force, Production, Quality, and Shipping teams to help generate sales and provide customer service that exceeds our customer expectations. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Compensation Data:

Starting Hourly Rate: $24.20 (depending on experience)Position is eligible for up to 30% ROA & Profit Share bonus

Minimum Qualifications:

Prior experience in Sales, or duties directly associated with Customer Service.

Detailed Selection Criteria:
  • Customer Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. This also includes effectively anticipating and meeting customer needs and the ability to adjust approach based on the situation.

  • Teamwork- Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.

  • Dependability- Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.

  • Communication- The ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand.

  • Organizing, Planning, & Prioritizing Work- Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team.

  • Initiative- Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.

  • Attention to Detail- Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.

  • Problem Solving & Judgement/ Decision Making- Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or two years of B2B experience in a sales-related field including involvement with customer service, resolving customer's concerns and overall customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of the steel industry

  • Familiarity with forecasting, cold calling, prospecting, and strategizing.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Willingness for occasional travel
