The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales within his / her assigned territory. This position will increase sales for existing accounts through relationship-based selling as well as develop new sales opportunities for new prospects.
Responsibilities- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product information in a timely manner
- Develop new leads/sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential new accounts
- Resolve and respond to customer support questions & issues
- Ensure regular communication with assigned accounts
- Perform various projects for management team (i.e. prepare reports, create presentations)
- Prepare and deliver customer communications as required to advance / close the sales cycle. This includes proposals / quotes, technical / product data etc.
- Partner with Marketing/Product Management to maintain on-going knowledge of marketing/sales programs to present to customers.
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and quantities
- Educate customers about products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
- Setup and maintain customer files
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements- Bachelor's degree with an area of discipline preferred in marketing or an applied science
- 2 years of customer service experience and 1 year of sales experience
- Customer account management skills that cover communication, interpersonal, presentation and follow up
- Must have a basic understanding of negotiation skills
- Solid project management skills; can effectively collaborate within and across internal and external teams
- Must be able to manage competing priorities, demonstrate a sense of urgency, meet commitments within given deadlines and be self-driven in setting individual goals to meet business targets
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
- Proven ability to communicate persuasively, effectively and in a professional manner
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office
