Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday, 4:00AM to 5:00PMThe purpose of this position:Provide inspection and material handling support for quality, manufacturing, and engineering. Duties and Responsibilities (Quality):Conduct inspections and measurements of manufactured partsInterpret engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and measurement specifications to determine inspection requirements.Program CMMs and set up measurement routines based on workpiece specifications.Collect measurement data and perform accurate dimensional analysis using CMM software and other measurement tools.Analyze measurement results and compare them against the specified requirements to assess the conformance of parts.Identify and document any non-conformities or deviations from the specified tolerances.Generate detailed inspection reports and documentation to communicate measurement findings and quality issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality-related concerns and implement corrective actions.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes and quality control.Duties and Responsibilities (Material Handling):Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventoryLocates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production ordersMaintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and suppliesDocuments materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of unitsShipping to vendors and customers and maintaining recordsDocuments product shipment by recording units shippedMaintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections making operator repairs.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededSkills/Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDOne to three years in optical mechanical inspection experience desiredExperience in handling precision componentsBasic blueprint reading and comprehensionComputer fluency to include Windows 95, Office 95 and basic DOSStandard drawing practices, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing desiredOrganization, Scheduling, Analyzing Information, Dealing with Complexity, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Process Improvement, Safety Management, Inventory Control, Lifting, Data Entry SkillsSolid understanding of health and safety regulations and ability to follow procedureAny other related duties as requiredEducation/Experience:High School Diploma or GEDOne to three years in optical mechanical inspection with Coordinate Measuring Machine experience desiredExperience in handling precision componentsBasic blueprint reading and comprehensionComputer fluency to include Windows 95, Office 95 and basic DOSStandard drawing practices, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing desiredInventory/material handling experienceWorking Conditions:Exposure to alcohol and acetone used for cleaningOccasional lifting of up to 35 lbsThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.The range for this position is $18.15 hourly rate - $21.08 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
