As the Inspections Hotline- Permitting Coordinator I, you will assist customers with the following: respond to general permitting questions, research, issuance of permits, schedule inspections and process payments in accordance with applicable State Statutes, county ordinances, regulations, unit policies in permitting. - Handle Inspections Hotline calls for various building permitting, inspections or plan review inquiries and refer customers to appropriate areas to address or secure answers to questions about building division services, including online and automated inspection processes.
- Help customers regarding various building permit requests, on-line permit issues, scheduling inspections and troubleshoots inspection scheduling issues and concerns.
- Contact appropriate inspector(s) to assure coordination with construction industry, business owner and/or property owner.
- Initiate, process and complete re-inspection and/or extension request and assure proper approval from Deputy Building Official or Building Official.
- Process customer inquiries and make decisions in accordance with applicable ordinances, regulations and unit policies.
- Research files, databases, internet, GIS and maps for a variety of source background materials. Must understand the County Address System.
- Process payments and provide information for all types of payments for fees related to permitting, licensing, code enforcement, utilities, impact fees, code enforcement penalty fees, etc.
- Utilize the adopted Fee Ordinance to provide permit fee information. Reconcile payments at close of each day.
- Process and enter permit affidavits, notice of commencements, express applications (OTC) and other regulatory permit documents in the Accela permit tracking system including building permits, zoning permits, resource protection permits, culvert permits, right of way permits, etc.; verifies accuracy of fees in Accela System in accordance with applicable ordinances, regulations and unit policies.
- Issue a variety of permits, certificates of occupancy and certificates of completion.
- Maintain and update procedure manual and provide input to manager for updating the unit's procedure manual.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About YouTo thrive in this position, you must have-- High School Diploma or its equivalent and 3 years of clerical office experience or customer service experience.
- Valid Florida driver's license
