Job Title: InspectorDepartment: Housekeeping Reports to: Housekeeping ManagerAs a Hotel Room Inspector, you are responsible for overseeing housekeepers and ensuring the cleanliness of guest rooms and other public areas to uphold the hotel's service standards. The Inspector should enthusiastically carry out all instructions from managers and follow safety procedures in order to provide the most enjoyable guest experience.Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees housekeeping staff regarding room cleaning progress by checking the cleanliness of rooms and communicating that status to the front desk.
- Opens housekeeping department: assign rooms to housekeepers in the morning, using the computer to assign rooms/update rooms status each day.
- Assists housekeeping staff with light cleaning or touch ups to rooms as needed.
- Clean rooms and laundry rooms occasionally as needed.
- Ensure rooms are prepared following standards and audit them.
- If guests' forgotten items are found in the room, record them with the lost and found/front desk.
- Organize storage rooms, assist in putting away deliveries, supplies, and linens, and assist with doing inventory as well as any other duties that may be assigned.
- Close housekeeping department: make sure all rooms are updated, all keys are turned in, and all storage rooms locked at the end of each day.
- Report daily communications and inspections to managers.
Next Level Duties:
- Distribute and log all keys and communication devices and receive them back at end of day.
- Monitor systems for timely completion of requests.
- Communicate with other departments as needed.
- Report any guest issues to management.
- Be a point of contact for guest and staff opportunities.
Must Have Personal Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older.
- 1 year of housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and communicate with staff and guests.
- Understand basic systems.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests.
- Able to remain standing or walking for 8-hours shifts.
