RK&K is currently hiring Inspectors of all levels in the Staunton and Harrisonburg area. The Construction Inspectors will conduct testing and analysis of highway and bridge construction materials and adherence to engineering plans on sight. We are looking for talented and driven individuals to help grow and strengthen our construction management/inspection business. Essential Function
- Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of roadway and bridge structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Fully engage in solving problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
- Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
- Record-keeping and reporting as required
Required Skills and Experience
- Some knowledge of materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Acceptable driving record
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Inspection experience including roadway, asphalt, concrete, pavement markings, structure and bridge construction methods
- VDOT and other local public agency experience desired
- VDOT Material Certifications are a plus (Asphalt, Concrete, Pavement Marking, Soils, Intermediate Traffic Control Certified, etc.)
- Site Manager experience a plus
