Position Overview: As an Installation & Service Technician at Kemps Machine Company, you will play a crucial role in the successful installation and post install service of our products. This position requires high technical demands and precision. An installation and service technician plays a critical role in the optimal functioning and maintenance of complex machinery and equipment. This position is critical for ensuring that all operational equipment is in a state of readiness and capable of performing its necessary tasks. The technician's ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment directly impacts operational efficiency, system reliability, and the overall productivity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reading, interpretating and understanding layout and installation drawings and specifications.
- Conducting regular maintenance checks and scheduling repairs as needed.
- Troubleshooting equipment and diagnosing faulty operation.
- Implementing preventative maintenance measures to enhance equipment longevity.
- Replacing damaged or obsolete components in machinery.
- Collaborating with other team members to enhance system performance.
- Documenting and maintaining records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Perform installations of fabricated and welded components & machinery with precision and adherence to specifications.
- Work directly with customers to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during or after installation.
- Travel up to 40% of the time to customer sites, including international destinations, to conduct installations and obtain factory certifications.
- Communicate effectively with customers to provide clear instructions and resolve any problems.
- Accept and integrate constructive feedback to continuously improve performance and skills.
- Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations in the workplace.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, including time logs, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Experience and knowledge of low voltage electrical systems a plus but not required.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong track record in successful equipment installations.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently.
- Independence: Ability to work well independently and handle tasks with minimal supervision.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including international travel.
- Must possess a valid passport
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Learning: Openness to learning new techniques and technologies, including obtaining factory certifications from our esteemed partners.
- Ethics: Demonstrated commitment to honesty, hard work, and high ethical standards.
