While the majority of assistants are assigned to one classroom, an assistant may work in multiple classrooms, grade levels and curriculum. Teachers are readily available, provide lesson plans and may discuss daily classroom activities with assistant. Student motivation and disciplinary techniques (e.g., oral reprimands/reinforcements, stickers, placing names on chalkboards) may be utilized by assistants without supervisory direction for the purpose of maintaining a controlled, structured classroom environment. Stipend amounts will be divided into 10 monthly payments, September - June. The stipend amount will be prorated for any midyear degrees conferred in the month the transcript was submitted to and verified by the Human resources Department.
