The primary focus of this role is to support students with learning disabilities across various levels of ability. The Instructional Assistant will work closely with special education teachers to assist in delivering individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support to help students achieve academic success. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing IEPs by providing support to students with learning disabilities in both individual and small group settings.
- Reinforce learning concepts and strategies taught by the special education teacher.
- Support students in developing organizational skills, study habits, and other strategies to improve their academic performance.
- Provide support in daily classroom activities, including transitions, materials preparation, and classroom organization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities or in a special education setting is a plus but not required.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a classroom environment.
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Training:
