NOTICE OF FULL-TIME SUPPORT STAFF VACANCY Stonybrook Elementary- Instructional Assistant/PCA 7 hours Per Day 186 Days Per Year PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a personal assistant to a student with special needs, providing him/her with assistance in learning activities, with special projects, personal care activities (i.e. toileting transfers, assisting with meals, feeding), logging daily activities, follow-up with instructional team. Duties will vary depending on the individual's needs.
- Support activities for all or an assigned subject area.
- Provide in-class assistance to a student with an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) or Sectio 504/Chapter 15 Plan. Assist student with staying focused and on-task, monitor and report behavior problems; take notes on material being instructed, re-teach/teach material; assist students with completion of homework, class work, classroom projects, and use of technology/computer.
- Attend/participate in IEP and team meetings. Become familiar with student's IEP with guidance from the special education teacher.
- Assist with student supervision in all classes, hallways, at breakfast, during recess, lunch & assemblies, and at beginning and end of school day.
- Follow & collect data for behavior plans and progress monitoring under the direction of professional staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary study, possess an Associates degree or higher, or meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a State assessment (the CAPE Test)
- Maintain 20 hours per year of professional development related to identified position
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Must have (or willing to obtain) current PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks
Hourly Rate: $15.00-$19.75 *Step placement shall be based on years of service recognized by employer.
