Instructors may teach a full 16-week term, an abbreviated term, or limited hours, depending on discipline/subject. Qualified applicants will be contacted only when a need is identified.This application expires on June 30, 2025, and a new application must be submitted for consideration the following academic year.An instructor must be a resident of Colorado or reside in Colorado on the first day of employment.Pay is $35.12 per lab hour and/or $51.13 per lecture hour. Instructors are hired as temporary employees and are not eligible for medical or dental benefits. However, instructor hours are measured annually to determine potential eligibility for medical benefits the following plan year.The disciplines and course subjects within the Fine Arts, Humanities, & Mass Communications Department that is currently accepting candidates are as follows:- Instructor, Arts and Humanities; Job DutiesThe instructor provides classroom, laboratory, and related instruction under the guidance of a course lead and Department Chair and is responsible for planning and providing student instruction in accordance with approved syllabi, curriculum guidelines, and required program standards.To be eligible for employment, the instructor must complete all required compliance and accreditation training and successfully meet the requirements established for a background check.The instructor must adhere to the laws, policies, procedures, rules, and applications which govern and affect the college, including the fiscal rules of the State of Colorado.Essential Functions
- Teaches courses as assigned within instructor workload guidelines.
- Meets all scheduled classes.
- Provides adequate preparation of course material.
- Ensures compliance with classroom safety procedures.
- Submits students grades within required timelines.

Minimum Qualifications Education
- Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience
- Ability to teach Art at the post-secondary level.

- Demonstrated body of work in fine art concepts in a variety of mediums.
License/Certification
- Colorado Technical Education Credential Eligible.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of Art History: Ancient to Medieval, Renaissance, Modern, etc.
- Teaching experience with a record of helping students learn research techniques, write academically and critically, as well as present findings.
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies.
- Proficiency with a Learning Management System (Desire2Learn, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.)
- Experience using Zoom or WebEx in a teaching environment.
BenefitsInstructors are hired on a temporary, as-needed basis. These positions do not include Medical or Dental benefits. However, Instructors and variable hour employees not receiving a Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) retirement benefit will have their hours measured on an annual basis to determine eligibility to enroll in medical health insurance for the following benefit period.Active members of PERA may purchase supplemental life insurance and disability insurance.
