Campus: District Pay Classification: Hill College Faculty Salary Schedule plus Stipend FLSA Status: Exempt Department: Athletics/STEM Reports To: Dean of STEM (instructional responsibilities) & Athletic Trainer (athletic training responsibilities) Job Summary: Responsible for the success of the total teaching/learning process within the athletic training program, laboratory, and other athletic learning environments. Carries out all the duties and responsibilities of a faculty member while performing the athletic training function for Hill College athletics. Minimum Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in athletic training; or a combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- State licensure of athletic training (LAT)
- Preferred: Master's degree
- Preferred: National certification of athletic training (ATC)
Minimum Required Experience:
- Preferred: Experience as an Athletic Trainer
- Preferred: Experience in higher education

Essential Job Functions:
- Performs and carries out instruction, including careful planning of the course, preparation of lessons, meeting all scheduled classes, clearly informing students of course requirements, and fairly and impartially grading all students per the standards established by the institution.
- Set a high standard in academic and scholarly excellence, personal integrity, and professional ethics.
- Conducts class discussions of subject matter within the scope of the course, the instructor's field of expertise, and professional competence.
- Contributes to curriculum studies. Adheres to the course syllabi and textbooks adopted for each course.
- Participates as a faculty representative at meetings such as all-staff, commencement exercises, and committee assignments.
- Teaches classes as assigned by the Dean of STEM and/or the Vice President of Student Learning and Success.
- Maintains work area, shops, labs, and/or equipment in safe and sound condition.
- Manages and cares for athletic training equipment.
- Recruit students for the athletic training program.
- Supervises athletic training students during team practices, competition activities, and student-athletes.
- Schedules athletic training students to assist teams during practice and competition.
- Establishes and maintains office hours. Submits all paperwork in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Establishes, maintains, and works within a budget.
Other Information:
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license.
- Travel to other locations as needed.
- Serves on institutional committees and workgroups as directed.
- Weekend and evening work required during designated times.
- Security sensitive position.
Physical Requirements:
- Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work.
