Join our team and be a part of a Promising Future for Every ONE! The primary role of faculty is to serve as facilitators of student learning. Faculty enhance the learning process through educational and discipline specific professional development activities. Faculty advance the institution through participation in college, professional, and community activities. This faculty member will teach courses in the general Business Management Program and has the opportunity to teach courses in the specialized business tracts such as Human Resources and Marketing Management. These courses include, but are not limited to, Principles of Management, Small Business Management, Financial Management, International Business, Organizational Behavior, Marketing, Human Resources Management, and economics courses. Essential Duties and Responsibilities FACILITATOR OF STUDENT LEARNING: The teaching and learning process is a partnership promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience between teacher and student. This process provides meaningful learning experiences enabling learners to develop their ability to solve problems, think critically and creatively, and communicate effectively while developing marketable technical skills. Faculty do this by:
- Providing instruction
- Developing and revising curriculum
- Providing a safe and inviting learning environment
- Providing student evaluation and feedback in a timely manner
- Participating in the assessment of student learning through program assessment and general education assessment
- Maintaining accurate records
- Using appropriate learner-centered instructional methods
- Utilizing the learning management system for every course and keeping current with the use of appropriate technology
- Integrating the principles of workplace values in the learning environment
- Maintaining equipment and materials in the learning environment
- Preparing and distributing course syllabi
- Scheduling and maintaining adequate office hours
- Advising students for course registration and graduation as well as other academic issues, including referrals to other college services
- Lead, oversee, and participate in co-curricular student activities
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH: Faculty enhance meaningful learning experiences by:
- Participating in professional activities
- Collaborating with colleagues
- Exploring innovative teaching, learning, and technology practices, and
- Creating, implementing, and evaluating an annual, individualized plan detailing goals for growth in collaboration with the Division Dean.
Qualifications Possession of an MBA or a master's in a business discipline preferred. Candidates that possess a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, management or related fields will be considered. Absent the master's degree, the faculty member will be required to develop and follow a plan to earn a master's degree. Prior teaching experience, preferably in a two-year college setting, is preferred. A minimum of 3 years full time related work experience in the field is required. Experience with direct supervision of staff and a management background is preferred.
