Position Summary
The Department of Allied Health Sciences, within the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time (9.5 month) Instructor position in clinical chemistry or immunohematology. The appointment is scheduled to begin on July 1st, 2025.

Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience in clinical practice or clinical management, and experience in professional education.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
* Teaching and student advising at undergraduate and graduate levels. Expected teaching responsibilities will primarily support the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Clinical Laboratory Science programs and include lecture and laboratory courses in clinical chemistry or immunohematology with additional Clinical Laboratory Science courses.
* Work closely with the Clinical Laboratory Science Program Director to continuously improve the quality of instruction, assist with course planning, and support program accreditation.
* Contribute to the service mission of the department, college, and professional community.

Education and Experience
* Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences focused on advanced topics, a Master of Science in Education, or a doctoral degree such as a Ph.D., Ed.D., or Sc.D
* At least 3 years of experience in clinical laboratory science; this may also include teaching responsibilities
* Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP), or an ASCP specialist certification or equivalent is preferred
Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. This position is based in Albany, NY. The duties and responsibilities of this particular role require the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or interaction with our community, requiring all work to be performed full-time on-site. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Additional details pertaining to this position will be discussed during the interview process.
