This is an academic year position which typically runs from mid- August through mid-May.Under the direction of the Dean of Healthcare Pathway, develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats, online courses, staff development, conduct open labs (if/when necessary), student advising, student outcome assessment and quality review assessment and implementation, student organization involvement, recruitment and retention of students, and other duties as assigned**. - Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program/department evaluation. **
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance.
- Advise students on academic issues. **

Qualifications Educational Requirements:Must have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Health Information Management, Health Administration or related field such as Health Informatics.Occupational Experience Requirement:Must have a minimum of five (5) years of full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) experience in Health Information Technology: Coding Manager/Director, Revenue Cycle Manager, Cancer Registry Manager, Information Security Manager, HIM Operations Manager.In addition, one of the following must be met:1.) At least two (2) years of work experience must have occurred within the last five years, or2.) Two (2) years of teaching Health Information Technology course work at the post-secondary level within the last five years {One (1) year of teaching equivalent two (2) semesters full-time of four (4) semesters part-time}Industry or vendor certification Requirement:Must have a current credential as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) through American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Previous teaching experience preferred.

Supplemental InformationStart Date:2 part-time positions that support the Healthcare Pathway and are available to start immediately.Hours:Up to 19 hours weekly, in-person, primarily based out of the Mequon Campus. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours, Monday - Friday Salary:Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.
