Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) - a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York - seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Outreach Worker to join the Baby College Department.The instructor will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.The Baby College is a program that addresses the needs of children between the ages of 0 to 3 and is a critical piece of our early intervention work. It is our goal to provide families with both a range of information and the support necessary to raise happy and healthy children who enter school ready to learn.The Baby College is seeking a Part-time Instructor with facilitation experience that will provide direct instructional learning, assistance, and support to staff, children, and families. This position will primarily facilitate the instructional staff in an early childhood parenting curriculum. - A bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of teaching or facilitating adult class in child development, early childhood education, social work, human service, and relevant experience in related fields is required
- Demonstrated ability to work with adults and their young children in an educational setting

What you'll do
- Update, review and execute lesson plans explain best parenting strategies and practices
- Facilitate workshops in early childhood development content to parents and caregivers
- Utilize the Touchpoints philosophy, and other early childhood parenting techniques
- Read, analyze the Philliber Research Associates survey to devise plans to meet program goals
- Identify and attend trainings, workshops and seminars that will enhance and improve your knowledge and skills
- Determine assistants needed to support regular attendance and connect parents to resources as appropriate. Educate parents about the benefits and importance of regular attendance.
- Assess family needs and identify parent/guardian goals for family. Work with families to develop a plan towards meeting needs and achieving goals. Refer families to resources to support referrals on a regular basis.
- Educate families about the importance of early learning programs and support families in enrolling in the children HCZ's early childhood pipeline programs
- Educate families about the benefits and importance of regular attendance and connect families to resources as appropriate.
- Meet with supervisor as necessary to discuss procedures, protocol and other administrative processes to ensure quality provision of services to families.
- Other duties as assigned.
