Job Title: Instructor, Machine Learning/AI

Division: Molecular and Human Genetics

Summary

Instructor needed to specialize in machine learning and AI methods. The Instructor will lead AI-related projects, mentoring junior postdocs and PhD students, helping peers to solve problems, debug their code, write and edit papers, etc. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the field, communication is very important. The Instructor will simplify the technical knowledge into very simple instructions for colleagues with different specialties so that everyone understands.

Responsibilities
  • Focusing on driver genes identification using machine learning methods, testing, validating, and putting together as software.
  • Identifying genotype-phenotype relationships using multi-omics data and statistical methods.
  • Investigating protein-protein interactions and identifying epistasis effects of mutations or genes and in-depth analysis of genome sequence data using graph methods.
  • Learning and expanding the current state-of-the-art biological tools.
  • Collaborating with colleagues with similar or different backgrounds to share knowledge and brainstorm.
  • Writing manuscripts and publishing in top-tier journals.
  • Participating in grant writing and progress reports.
  • Presenting the project whenever needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. degree.
