Salary: $70,467.00 - $79,225.00 Annually Location : WI 53072, WI Job Type: Full time Job Number: 2024-09-11 LL Department: Architecture, Automation & Apprenticeships Division: School of Applied Technologies Opening Date: 09/11/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Grade/Level: F02 Description Under the supervision of the Associate Dean/Instructional Manager, the instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students within the assigned and approved instructional delivery system and in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the district. The instructor is responsible for providing an active learning environment to enable students to demonstrate course competencies and creating a student learning centered environment that places learning at the center of educational experiences. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
  • Develop and maintain course curriculum. Align curriculum to departmental, state, and/or other applicable standards and outcomes.
  • Plan, deliver and facilitate student learning, including providing ongoing quality feedback to students.
  • Assess student attainment of learning outcomes and critical life skills (both formative and summative), at the course, program, and college level.
  • Collect, report, analyze, and use data to support continuous improvement at the course, program and college level.
  • Use technology to facilitate student learning, college processes, and personal productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate as a productive member of a team.
  • Maintain college learning resources and equipment.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain occupational competency, and ensure knowledge of current laws and regulations related to the profession(s) in which instruction is provided.
  • Minimum Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of programmatic discipline, curriculum development, effective teaching/learning principles, and evaluation.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, active listening, and non-verbal cues.
  • Strong customer service skills which include working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage time, organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively integrate technology into instructional delivery and assessment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal (staff, management, personnel) and external contacts (employers, clients, and vendors).
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work and/or the improvement of processes and/or systems.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with computer software applications such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation programs. Knowledge of and familiarity with videoconferencing and technologies associated with adult-centric teaching and learning, as well as within specific programmatic disciplines, which may include web technologies, operating systems, online program tracking platforms, social media platforms, mobile technology tools, and/or AV/multimedia applications and equipment.
  • Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls engineering, AAS degree, Apprenticeship, or Technical Diploma or equivalent* with education or training preparing a person for the occupational area being taught. Appropriate training may include vendor, manufacturer, in-service or other structured on-the-job training in the occupation.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the field of Automation. Experience should be in mechatronics, electrical/electronic controls, motor controls, programmable logic controls, robotics, electrical power controls, maintenance, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Supplemental Information The Instructor - Manufacturing Integration Engineering Technology position is part of the Architecture, Automation, and Apprenticeships department in the School of Applied Technologies, and will report to the Associate Dean. This full-time instructor position will teach on a flexible year-round calendar. Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends.
