Instructor, Mathematics - 9/10 Month (Term) - North Davidson CampusJob no: 499771 Work type: Faculty - 9/10 Month Location: Madison Categories: FacultyTitle: Instructor, Mathematics 9/10 month (Term) - North Davidson CampusPOSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTeach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college's learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. This position will be based on the North Davidson campus in Madison with teaching assignments at the Southeast campus in Antioch. Additional teaching assignments are possible at any campus or site at which NSCC instruction takes place.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Mathematics (OR) Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in MathematicsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCollegiate level teaching experienceDemonstrated commitment to equity and accessibilityAbility to teach upper-level mathematics coursesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
