Position Description & DetailsAre you ready to spark a new generation of electrical lineworkers? Bismarck State College is looking for an enthusiastic Instructor of Practice to light up our curriculum and energize our students in the classroom, shop, and lineworker yard! If you have a passion for teaching and a strong background in the electrical field, BSC wants to see you shine!Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Instruction: Illuminate the minds of students with engaging lessons in electrical theory, hands-on skills, and safety practices. Conduct classes in our well-equipped shop and lineworker yard.
- Curriculum Upgrades: Keep our programs buzzing by updating and enhancing course materials to ensure we're always current with industry standards.
- CDL Instruction: Teach students the ropes of commercial driving, using a combination of classroom instruction, simulators, and hands-on training with tractor-trailers.
- Student Mentoring: Serve as a guiding light for students, offering support and encouragement as they navigate their educational journey.
- Committee Work: Participate in advisory committees to help shape our programs and keep them grounded in industry needs.
- Marketing Programs: Promote our courses and workshops to attract new students and keep our programs energized.
- Grading: Submit grades by established deadlines to ensure students receive timely feedback-because their success is our top priority!
- Additional Duties: Collaborate with the Assistant Dean and/or Dean of AEAT on various tasks that help us power through each academic year.
Minimum Requirements- Associate degree/Certificate in Electrical Lineworker and a minimum of three years of active employment within the Lineworker field or certificate in Electrical Lineworker and five years of non-teaching work-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Extensive industry experience with Journeymen Linemen status.
- Curriculum development, teaching, and/or training experience.
- Experience with hands-on teaching methods.
- Hold a North Dakota Class A driver's license.
