Job Description Summary:Join the Design and Fabrication Service (DFS) team at the Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) at NSF NCAR as an Instrument MakerOur company leads groundbreaking research in atmospheric science. This position is essential to the development of scientific instruments for unique field research.The ideal candidate will interpret engineering drawings or sketches, determine the approach for fabricating the parts, complete CNC programming, perform the machining, inspect the parts, and perform any required post-processing or assembly. Work location is Boulder Colorado, Foothills Lab What You Will Do Here is a brief summary of what one would expect to be generally responsible for in this role.Key Responsibilities:Performs basic programming of CNC machinesfor various multi-axis Machining Centers and equipment for optimal machine utilization.Designs and fabricates necessary jigs and fixtures.
