Position Overview:The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for various industrial processes and equipment. They will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and production staff to ensure efficient and safeoperations in a heavy industrial facility.Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and install control systems for industrial processes and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electronic and instrumentation systems
- Program PLCs to automate and optimize production processes
- Manage and maintain high voltage systems, including protection devices
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems for work order management and record keeping
- Create and maintain hardware drawings, P&IDs, and three-line diagrams
- Perform electrical preventive maintenance on medium and high voltage equipment
- Manage and allocate resources for maintenance and repair tasks
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electronics and instrumentation troubleshooting
- Proficiency in PLC programming and working with high voltage systems
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
- Strong knowledge of electronic instrumentation and protection devices
- Familiarity with medium voltage electrical equipment
- Previous experience in the industrial power industry is preferred
- Knowledge of CEMS maintenance is a plus
- Ability to effectively manage resources and prioritize tasks
- Physical mobility to perform tasks in an industrial setting
- Safety sensitivity and understanding of safety protocols and guidelines
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred
