What We Are Looking For
An Insulation Installer is responsible for installing materials to slow heat transfer (heat loss), air seal (reducing air flow) and reduce noise transfer in buildings. This role includes working with insulation products made from various fiberglass, foam, and cellulose materials to insulate walls, floors, and ceilings in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Fire-proofing techniques and materials will also be used where appropriate and required.
What You Will Do
* Material Installation: Measure, cut, and install insulation materials in walls, floors, ceilings, attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
* Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning and removing old insulation or debris. Install protective coverings on floors, walls, or any areas needed to protect customer property. Post warning signage, safety cones and other materials, as appropriate.
* Application Techniques: Use a variety of tools and equipment, including blowers, staple guns, and spray foam equipment to install insulation.
* Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks/respirator, gloves, glasses/goggles, boots, Tyvek-style full body coverings and air-supplied hoods.
* Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation and adherence to building codes, standards, and industry best practices.
* Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to explain the installation process and any required customer precautions, address their concerns, and confirm work scope and timeline.
* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctioning, such as blower/vacuum hose jams, or spray foam application quality issues (reactor, pump, or gun); or, insulation installation, such as gaps, air leaks, and thermal bridging.
* Instruction: Ability to read job site instructions and execute job work scopes as indicated.
* Environment: Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety for both employee and customer.
* Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor with all customers and treat coworkers respectfully.
* Material Loading: Load and unload required insulation materials per job work scope.
* Tools/Equipment/Supplies: Keep tools and equipment clean, functioning and properly stored and organized when not in use. Report in a timely manner any broken, worn, defective, or unsafe tools or equipment to supervisor. Transport needed tools, equipment, and supplies to jobsite such as ladders, drop clothes, tape, impact gun/drill, batteries & charger, lights/headlamp, handsaws, tape measures, knives, scissors, and power saws, as needed to prepare the insulation and jobsite for installation.
* Vehicle/Trailer: Keep company vehicles and trailers clean and organized.
* Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with efficiency.
* Follows company and industry safety guidelines and regulations.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience: Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred. Specific experience as an insulation installer is a plus.
* Skills:
* Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
* Ability to read site plans (blueprints) and specifications.
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and situational awareness.
* Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces* and at heights.
* Ability to speak a language other than English, a plus.
* Certifications: Certification from a recognized insulation training program or relevant construction certification, a plus.
* Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
* Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty).
* Capacity to stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
* Work Environment:
* The job involves working in occupied residential homes or on construction sites, which may be indoors or outdoors.
* Exposure to insulation materials, which may require following specific handling and personal safety procedures.
* Driver's License/Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work site. Changes in driver's license status must be reported at time of occurrence.
