We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant with an insurance background to join a finance team for a prominent business in the Dayton community. As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. You will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry regulations, and support strategic decision-making. This is a full-time onsite role with an annual salary starting at $75,000.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Manage general ledger accounts and conduct regular account reconciliations
  • Calculate and report on insurance-specific financial metrics and reserves
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and reports
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, STAT)
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector
  • Strong knowledge of insurance accounting principles and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred
