JOB SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Patient Financial Services Manager, the Insurance Billers work to ensure timely billing and reimbursement of claims to insurance carriers. Candidate will be a goal-oriented, revenue-driven, highly accurate and motivated biller. Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills are necessary as this position processes claims by generating reports and researching. Proficiently perform duties in both professional and facility billing platforms. This position is a highly valued member of our team requiring a professional, efficient, organized individual with an attention to detail, ability to manage time effectively and a strong self-motivation sharing in a goal for providing quality and efficient service. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Compile and submit claims to insurance companies based on data provided by the medical coders with goal of zero errors. Complete account follow-up daily, maintaining established goals and notifies the business office supervisor, when necessary, of issues preventing achievement of such goals. Use reporting system to follow up on inappropriately paid accounts by contacting payers, processing payer correspondence, rebilling, working denials and conducting appeals to obtain the highest possible reimbursement and ensure patient satisfaction. Compliant with HIPAA privacy requirements for patient information. Maintains and protects confidential information. Ability to multi-task and work courteously and respectfully with fellow employees, clients and patients. Other duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the department and organizational performance in accordance with Curry Health Networks Mission, Vision and Shared Values. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Medical Biller Certification or prior experience preferred. Working experience with all payer types including: commercial, governmental, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, etc. and the ability to cross-over into different payers preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficient at reading, writing, and communicating in English; overall excellent communication skills. Bilingual skills are a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations. Knowledge of revenue cycle processes including: health insurance verifications, billing, collections, and cash posting functions preferred.
