Responsibilities:
The Insurance Clerk, Patient Accounts performs a variety of office clerical duties in connection with inpatient and outpatient insurance billings and payments. The Insurance Clerk, Patient Accounts also assists with coverage of hospital switchboard.
Essential Functions:
- Records and maintains complete and accurate transactions and patient billing information in the Hospitals billing system in order to submit timely and accurate bills to patients and third parties.
- Processes worklists and reports as may be assigned according to established procedures.
- Responds in a timely manner to questions or request for information received from Hospital departments, other staff members, patients and insurance companies.
- Submits bills to patients and third parties as may be assigned according to established procedures.
- Performs other task/functions as may be assigned.
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:High School Diploma/GED required
