Lerner, Arnold & Winston, LLP is a premier full-service law firm located in the heart of New York City. We are seeking multiple insurance coverage litigation associates for its First Party Insurance/Property Damage Litigation group.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3+ years in insurance coverage experience as well as general liability litigation experience. Experience in adjacent construction, construction defect/property damage and personal injury practice areas are a definite plus but not required. Must have litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, drafting and arguing motions, and strong research and writing skills are required. Admission to the New York Bar is required. New Jersey admission is a plus but not required.

The ideal candidates are highly motivated to join our firm to handle Plaintiff side First Party Insurance Coverage and Property Damage Litigation. We are looking for attorneys with 3-6 years of experience in handling these types of cases with a salary range of $100K to $150K depending on the level of experience with the opportunity to earn bonuses throughout the year. Responsibilities:

• Assist and collaborate with senior attorneys and partners in providing legal counsel and representation to clients in insurance coverage matters
• Analyze and develop legal strategies for complex litigation cases
• Conduct legal research and analysis on insurance policies and coverage disputes
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, motions, and briefs
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, trials, and other legal proceedings
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
• Review and analyze complex legal documents and contracts
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
• Working with the best trial attorneys in the field from inception to trial with the potential to second-seat trials

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice law in New York (other admissions are a plus)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney
• Strong knowledge of legal principles, procedures, and practices
• Proficient in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
