We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join our team and contribute to our continued success in defending clients' interests. Position Overview: We are looking for a seasoned Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience to handle a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in defending insurers and their policyholders against claims, including personal injury, property damage, and professional liability cases. This role requires strong litigation skills, a deep understanding of insurance law, and the ability to manage cases from inception to resolution. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent insurance companies and their policyholders in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
- Analyze case facts, develop legal strategies, and provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Negotiate settlements and manage case resolutions in the best interests of clients.
- Collaborate with experts, witnesses, and other legal professionals as needed.
- Stay current with developments in insurance law and litigation trends.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in West Virginia.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
- Strong knowledge of West Virginia insurance law and regulations.
- Proven ability to handle complex litigation and manage a substantial caseload.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-loss or high-stakes cases.
- Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Previous experience in a defense firm or similar legal setting.
