Job Title: Insurance Defense Paralegal
Job Description: Nationally ranked firm in the AmLaw 100 seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join their team. The ideal Insurance Defense Paralegal possesses 3-5+ years of experience working in Insurance Defense litigation and has summarized records, complaints, and claims, drafted reports, and prepared settlement binders.
Insurance Defense Paralegal Job Duties:
* Prepare draft reports with financials for reserve recommendations.
* Check deadlines for insured/defendant in defense and coverage matters.
* Prepare coverage opinion and ROR shells for attorney such as requesting UW files, summarizing code enforcement complaints, and requesting/summarizing insurance history for time on risk).
* Notify adjuster and Insured of any extensions that were obtained.
* Review and summarize claim files to create claim file chronologies.
* Prepare underwriting files/claim files in chronological order.
* Prepare declaratory relief complaint and notice and acknowledgments of receipt.
* Assist with preparation of settlement including preparing binders for attorneys and mediator.
* Request reports from adjusters.
Insurance Defense Paralegal Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required
* ABA-approved paralegal certificate strongly preferred with active CLE certifications
* 3-5+ years of Insurance Defense litigation required
* Ability to maintain 1500+ billable hours annually required
