Job Description:

A social services organization in New York City is actively seeking a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to join their growing team as an Intake Clinician. In this role, the Intake Clinician (LMSW) will be responsible for completing assessment and treatment evaluation process, including initial assessments, screening, and treatment plan development.About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Mon to Fri
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
  • Setting: Article 29i
  • Population: Foster Care

Responsibilities:The Intake Clinician (LMSW) will:

  • Complete assessments, screenings, and treatment evaluations
  • Complete client intakes in office, virtual, and/or in the community
  • Work in close collaboration with Patient Care Coordinator to assure families attend scheduled appointments
  • Attend weekly supervision with Clinical Supervisor
  • Attend team meetings with the case planning and interdisciplinary team to decrease the rate of appointment no-shows
  • Follow-up with the foster care clinical and administrative team to ensure all clients in care complete required evaluations
  • Maintain effective communication with children, families and case planning teams to address challenging clients
  • Provide clinical updates when necessary and appropriate for the case planning team
  • Complete mandatory trainings related to job performance and share clinical knowledge with others as a way to enhance the team's clinical perspective
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Children and Family Services
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in the field of serving families and children
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)
  • Solid assessment and documentation skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Knowledge of the Foster Care system
  • Competence in clinical assessment of Family Dynamics
  • Experience in making rapid clinical and family assessments in a Community-based setting
