Provider of intake and assessment services for the behavioral health inpatient program. Responsibilities include intake referral review. Works closely with the on call attending psychiatrist/provider, inpatient program staff and leadership.Weekend Coverage - Saturday/SundayRequirements
- Master's degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited school or nursing degree from an accredited school.
- Currently licensed in the State of North Carolina or a license from a compact state (nursing).
- BLS at time of hire from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- De-escalation Training (within 30 days)
- Minimum of one year working in the behavioral health field, acute psychiatric or intensive outpatient setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation, advocacy skills with patients, families, staff and community agency personnel.
- Basic computer skills required.
Job Specific Standards
- Reviews referral assessments from agencies outside the hospital to determine necessity for admission based on clearly defined admission criteria.
- Presents referral to the provider for an admission decision in a prompt and timely manner.
- Coordinates admissions to the inpatient psychiatric units with unit staff and outside referral agencies.
- Ensures that all intake assessments/referrals are completed/addressed in a timely fashion during working hours.
- Will notify management immediately of any difficulties encountered in presenting admissions to the provider.
- Responds with clinical appropriateness to all crisis/behavioral management situations.
- Cooperates well with peers and supports group decisions.
