The Office of the Bronx County Public Administrator administers estates of persons who died while residents of Bronx County. The Intake Specialist is responsible for communicating with the public as well as entities such as the police department, the morgue, nursing homes and hospitals, to begin the process of administering the estate of the decedent. The Intake Specialist is the office receptionist, who answers all office calls and routes them to the appropriate party. In addition, the Intake Specialist must speak with informants to explain the responsibilities of the office, and to obtain sufficient information about a decedent, to commence an administration proceeding. This process requires strong communication skills both written and oral, strong multi-tasking skills, filing skills, organization skills and strong computer skills, Microsoft Office. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 above.
