The Statewide Centralized Intake Unit of Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is seeking (3) experienced applicants to work as Intake Specialists. This position is 100% remote. You must live in the state of Georgia to apply.The successful applicant will assume intake responsibilities on a part-time bases three days per week (Monday - Wednesday, 10am - 3pm). The Intake Paralegal will answer and return incoming calls assigned to the Intake Workgroup of persons seeking legal assistance from Georgia Legal Services Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, screening and interviewing clients, making appointments, assisting clients in completing forms and questionnaires, making referral to agencies and private attorneys, input of initial data and updating data in Legal Server, and directing clients to self-help websites.RequirementsApplicants must have the ability to quickly establish a rapport with callers to effectively and efficiently obtain information needed to evaluate prospective clients' cases. Position requires the following skills: ability to identify legal issues; proficiency in the use of computers; good typing skills; ability to operate GLSP office equipment without assistance; proficiency in the use of Legal Server; ability to organize and prioritize work; and, a good track record completing tasks in a timely manner.Prior experience as a GLSP paralegal, receptionist, or client pre-screener is a plus. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have good writing and grammar skills.Starting salary is $16.86 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications; GLSP offers excellent fringe benefits.
