Position Overview:

Under general supervision, the Intake Team Lead will oversee the Intake Team's daily operations, ensuring efficient data management and effective collaboration on case investigations. Individuals in this role will be responsible for transparent communication, rigorous quality assurance, and strict compliance with confidentiality standards.

The Intake Team Lead is expected to have the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships, promoting collaboration in a diverse environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Team Leadership: Manages the daily operations of the Intake Team, offering guidance and expertise to team members to enhance their performance.

* Data Management: Ensures the timely and efficient uploading and entry of medical record requests and incoming case reports by the Intake staff.

* Case Coordination: Collaborates with the Case Investigation Supervisor and Data entry staff to guarantee that case investigations are completed promptly and reported to the state using the appropriate data management systems. Responsible for safeguarding protected health information (PHI).

* Leadership Communication: Maintains clear and transparent communication with leadership and team members, providing regular status updates to the Intake and Case Investigation Manager and Supervisor.

* Quality Assurance: Monitors the performance of intake coordinators to ensure all potential cases are identified and addressed.

* Compliance Oversight: Conducts comprehensive quality assurance checks on data entries in MAVEN and other relevant databases to verify accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards.

Requirements

Education:

* High school diploma/GED.

Experience:

* At least three (3) years of experience working in a public health-related field in epidemiology, communicable disease control, or related field.

* At least one (1) year of supervisory or lead role experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.

* Excellent organizational skills and communication skills (verbal & written).

* Ability to teach, train, and coach teams

* Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships, promoting collaboration in a diverse environment.

* Ability to protect sensitive information and ensure confidentiality in all interactions.

General Information

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

* This is a Full-Time | Grant-Funded position.

* Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

* Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends.

* Able to travel within Harris County as needed.

Work Environment:

* This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filling cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

* This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to twenty (20) pounds and bending & standing per periods at a time.

Work Location:

* Harris County Public Health: Office of Epidemiology, Surveillance & Emerging Diseases - 1111 Fannin St. Houston, Texas. 77002.

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
