Intake Worker - HEAP
A. JOB SUMMARY:
Conducts face-to-face interviews with persons applying for Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program benefits.
B. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
* Completes other related applications to access benefits for the applicant: Percentage of Income Payment Plan and Regular HEAP and Ohio Energy Credits.
* Conducts face-to-face interviews with applicants for Emergency HEAP assistance, completes all necessary paperwork and secures all necessary documentation of the applicant's eligibility for the program benefits.
* Explains the E-HEAP program process and benefits to the applicant.
* Gives the applicant information about other resources in the community and makes referrals as needed.
* Inputs data from applicant files to the E-HEAP database to complete the determination of eligibility process.
Non-Essential Functions:
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
C. REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school or general equivalency diploma (GED).
* Working knowledge of computer operations and the ability to use the keyboard.
* Good oral, written, interpersonal and organizational communication skills.
* Good math skills.
