Job Type Full-timeDescriptionCLX Engineering seeks an experienced Integration Engineer II in New Orleans with a strong working proficiency in airport baggage handling systems. This is a unique skill set encompassing an understanding of mechanical, electrical, logistical, andsoftware interactions implemented with sound, engineering principles. Our Integration Engineer II role demands someone who not only has a strong problem-solving skill set but has excellent customer service skills and can remain calm and productive in challenging situations. You will work collaboratively with our airport customers, Project Management, and Controls Engineering. Excellent documentation and communication skills are an absolute must.Successful candidates possess not only the ability to troubleshoot and modify programmable logic controls (PLCs), but also demonstrate expertise in coding from scratch, hands-on experience in control panel design, and a commitment to seeing projects through. CLX's Integration Engineer in New Orleans will operate with minimal supervision and must be confident in their technical skills and is able to adapt quickly. Ideal candidates will become the airport customer's first point of contact for all project communication and technical requirements knowing when to bring in other team members for different issues effectively collaborating with Project Management, engineering leadership, and other internal stakeholders.This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of solid experience working in automation, especially with PLC and coding (i.e., Allen-Bradley and Siemens strongly preferred) and have experience in airport BHS. Candidates who interview should expect to demonstrate their capabilities.Our future employee will reside in New Orleans, LA for approximately 2-3 years with occasional travel to our Sanford, FL office or other project sites, as needed. CLX Engineering cannot sponsor future visas and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.Our CLX Integration Engineer IIs are responsible for the following:
- Design, install, and maintain electrical PLC control systems according to client specifications and industry standards.
- Create and modify system designs, including electrical device layouts and wiring schematics.
- Program, troubleshoot, and upgrade PLC-based hardware and software.
- Supervise installation and testing processes, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
- Mentor junior team members and coordinate with project teams.
- Occasional travel to the CLX headquarters in Sanford, FL and travel as needed for other project requirements.
Requirements
- Solid engineering foundation/knowledge, time management, critical thinking, decision making, monitoring, communication (written/verbal/phone), problem sensitivity, attention to detail, conscientiousness, and a strong tenacity to see problems through to full completion.
- Five (5+) years of solid experience working in automation, especially with PLC and coding with Allen-Bradley and have proven experience in airport BHS.
- Experience managing a team of controls engineers and/or vendors as a team lead or supervisor.
- Physical Abilities: Remain stationary for up to 50% of a shift/work hours and while on job sites, must be able to walk airports and plants and remain standing for most of the shift.
Desired Skills/Preferred
- BSEE, E.T. or relevant technical degree
- AutoCAD experience, especially electrical.
- Scheduling and estimating experience are a plus.
