Bureau: Behavioral Health Services | Recovery Community Support Services

Full-Time County Contractual

Position open to all qualified candidates.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Benefits: Participation in the County's group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense.

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Functions in a non-clinical capacity to assist individuals with complex substance use disorder (SUD) needs in an array of areas in their lives (e.g., medical, mental health, family, employment, criminal justice, housing, finances) that disrupt or create barriers in reaching success in the recovery process. Responsible for facilitating the care and streamlining handoffs with other parties in the county health care system, ensuring that participants receive the appropriate continuing care. Works with individuals to ensure they receive public benefits and other supportive services.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in behavioral health or related field from an accredited college or university.Ensure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field

Experience:

Associate degree with at least two years working in the behavioral health field will be accepted. Experience working with individuals with SUD and/or Mental Health.

Notes:

Required to have a personal vehicle available for use with mileage reimbursement provided per Department of Health policies and possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in Maryland with a clear driving record.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with Anne Arundel County resources. Experience working with individuals on medications for opioid use disorders. Able to maintain daily contact notes, submit monthly reports timely and accurately, coach and model effective coping skills, and develop a relationship of rapport and trust. Strong communication skills with other health professionals, coworkers and clients. Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, electronic health record and Excel. Professional demeanor.
